| I'm Dave. Hi people I am the proud owner of an E10 Corolla Diesel; its been in my family longer than I have, and after passing my driving test my dad gave it to me. Granted, it was a pile of scrap and hadn't been serviced in......wait for it.......12 years. But I was overjoyed I've had it for just about 7 months, in which I've fixed it up as much as I could. This is before I fixed it up: Then I had an accident involving a loose handbrake cable, a slippery road and unbalanced brakes. Basically, the car skidded into a wall outside my house. The bumper was destroyed, as were the bonnet and lights. The insurance marked it as a wreck but since it was insured full, I got 1000 euro to fix it up. Sooo I bought all the parts imitation and cheap (30 euros a bumper) and took it to my dad's trusted panel beater. This guy completely messed up everything. Not only did he respray everything with the wrong paint, he even denied doing so. He had resprayed the passenger door, front and rear bumper and left and right wings. I still have paint splatters all over the trim and basically anything black. The wings and bonnet aren't aligned so the side lights and headlamps don't fit at all. Anyway, here it is now: You might have noticed the bumper started peeling the moment the warm weather started. The sprayer said it wasn't his fault, he just didn't sand it down before spraying -_- Here's the misaligned wing: The interior is a mess since its been taking me and my brothers to school and back for all its life, so I fit some seat covers and cleaned it the best I could. I also fitted power windows and LEDs under the dash. It's about to hit 100,000 miles and its still running beautifully, despite being neglected all its life. I'm gonna try make it last at least another 5 years, so i'm taking care of it. Anyway, that's it from my side. Hope you found my rambling mildly interesting. Now, I'm open to any suggestions with regards to mods of any sort Cheers Dave | |

| ohh goody another diesel car any engine bay pics bro.
and its ok these things happen.if u try hard you would get it into shape slowly and gradually.but when u do get it into shape this car would be a keeper but remember to wash and oil the undercarriage of the car monthly to prevent rusting.and you would be good to go _________________ | |

| Thanks for the reply, will do as soon as possible I have to build it up slowly, I'm a student with very little funds! However, I was considering fitting a turbo. I know that the Toyota Carina had a 2 litre Turbo diesel, and I was hoping to cannibalize that turbo. Till then, I'm focussing on sorting out the mess my panel beater did. Meaning bumpers and possible respray. Also, thanks for the tip about the undercarriage. I didn't know that and I will put it into effect as soon as I can. | |

| Thanks @knite It was going to be scrapped but I persuaded my parents to go for a second hand Lexus 220d rather than a new Auris. We have a scrappage scheme here that encourages you to put your old car as a deposit on a new car. But I liked the Corolla too much to let them get rid of it! Too many memories @gold94corolla yep its a year older than me Parents bought it brand new from the showroom in 92, I'm still 19 so there you have it! Like I said, I grew up in this car and I kinda assumed it would be my first Thanks for the replies | |

| hello and welcome. First and foremost congrats on passing and you picked the best car to get handed down to you, wise choice, it will never breakdown on you... the diesel (2C engine) is an awesome machine, i bought one after it been parked for 3 years and it fired up first time (with a new battery)... the first thing i would recommend is you do a full service on it including changing the fuel filter on it. with it being the hatch it was limited to europe and NZ, but there are afew nicely modified ones out there. there are alot of mods available out there for the corolla. i know what its like being a student and having a car and trying to modify it... if you are careful with your money then anything is achievable (i say this because i have a 3sge corolla ) we are all here to help, so if you need any info at all, dont hesitate to ask _________________ ★ 1993 Toyota Corolla Saloon ★トヨタ 花 AE-202 Owner It's all about N/A Power..... 198 bhp and 148 lbft4efte Build : http://www.ae101ownersclub.com/t3-1993-toyota-corolla-saloon
