| Trademe notification set for whenever a new auction is listed with KE35, SR, or TE37 in it, so I get an email..... xD
Crystal Black Silica, 3sge BEAMS from an Altezza, Rota Shakotan wheels, suspension and brake upgrade around the entire car, w58 gearbox, LSD, sound good? xD
Apparently a 3sge BEAMS pretty much just drops bang in to the KE30 engine bay. Ditch the rolla mounts, use the 3SGE mounts, very minor modification, bam, engine mounted. Tricky part is the bellhouse needs a little machining, and you have to use a w50 series gearbox, so either a 57/58 will be the go, with a 1s/2s/4s bellhouse that has had a little machining.
Jamie, after seeing the KE35, I was so buzzed I couldn't sleep last night and sat up all night researching a 3SGE conversion.... Now I'm going to shower and go to work. xD _________________ When life gives you lemons, squirt them in the eyes of your enemies - Happy Bunny If life gives you melons, you're probably dyslexic - Fave T-Shirt Quotes I'm a total novice when it comes to cars, so have patience if I seem stupid, I'm just inexperienced and super-keen to learn.

| sorry to hear about the rolla, tbh the 3sge (from a celica gt / mr2) isn't very heavy compared to other engines tbh, iv got one in mine and i have loads of fun in it (ie racing a h22 accord on the highway and actually pulling away from it, whilst it was in VTAK, and then toying with an EP3 Type R) quite surprising really.. but if you got your heart set on changing then so be it, the good news is you are replacing it with another toyota _________________ ★ 1993 Toyota Corolla Saloon ★トヨタ 花 AE-202 Owner It's all about N/A Power..... 198 bhp and 148 lbft4efte Build : http://www.ae101ownersclub.com/t3-1993-toyota-corolla-saloon

| Yeah, I recently found out I've been talking outta my bum with regards to that, having found out it weighs a grand total of 40kg more than the 4age at a high end estimate. _________________ When life gives you lemons, squirt them in the eyes of your enemies - Happy Bunny If life gives you melons, you're probably dyslexic - Fave T-Shirt Quotes I'm a total novice when it comes to cars, so have patience if I seem stupid, I'm just inexperienced and super-keen to learn. | |

| Mmmmmmm but I just don't have the enthusiasm to do it anymore hahaha. xD Whereas if I went to a KE35 it's easier again, just need to change the bell housing, and get a w57, or a remote shifter for the Altezza six speed...... And rear wheel drive.... And sooo sexy. xD Yeah. :S I love the gen 7's, but I just no longer want to be driving one forever. I think what I'll do is fix it up mechanically, tidy the body a little while I collect everything for a ke35 project car, then drop an auto into the rolla when done and give it to a mate. | |

| Don't even have storage for one car, let alone two. xD Will be using the granddad's garage, or a lockup, as project space. xD _________________ When life gives you lemons, squirt them in the eyes of your enemies - Happy Bunny If life gives you melons, you're probably dyslexic - Fave T-Shirt Quotes I'm a total novice when it comes to cars, so have patience if I seem stupid, I'm just inexperienced and super-keen to learn. | |

| Me neither! Just let me get my finances stable and all the parts I need. xD So give me about a year. I'm researching a remote shifter at the moment so I can keep the altezza 6 speed. | |

THIS! please this!, track time, or the ability to push your car to the limits without worrying about hurting somebody or yourself, is priceless, you'll learn a lot about car control in the limit, a place where we don't want to be, but know how to react when we are close to it. about your fwd/rwd comparision, you are correct, but "text book" correct, fwd is far easier to recover after the front (that usualy goes first) breaks lose, but with RWD when the front get loose you could mis-react and start to spin, and once the rear is out... isn't that easy to "power out" and correct it, again, track/paddock time will teach you this. keep up with the great work on the FX GT

| Whoa, whoa, slow down champ. It was NOT the front that broke loose, and simply stating that I need paddock time does not = I was being a dick on the road and not paying any attention to what was going on.
I was driving slowly at the time, in the region of 30kph on a corner signposted for 35, as I was bearing in mind the fact that it was wet out and I didn't want to attract any attention that late at night as a restricted driver. Please read through everything before going off half-cocked.
As stated, I wish to refine my driving and learn more "real world" driving, so as to be able to operate my vehicle as safely and competently as possible, without resorting to being that 96 yr old grand mother everybody swerves around honking.
Thank you for the clarification on FWD/RWD. Again, track/paddock time is definitely on the cards. Not so easy to get to from the middle of the city though, especially with how limited my funds and fuel have been lately.
Due to understanding how novice a driver I am, I do not EVER push my car to the limits in wet or twisty situations. Loss of life takes only momentary loss of control.

Jay, sorry if I offended you it wasn't my intention, please excuse me. Let me try to clarify. The front end coming loose it was just an example, something easly recoverable with a FWD and more delicate on a RWD. And the paddock time thing, was just to engurage you to do that, not that you should learn how to drive or anything like that. Please forgive my english, it's soo rusted at times and i cant express correctly.

| Nah, it's cool, I just get a little bit defensive when it comes to comments like that. I cop a lot of flack all the time over silly things like that merely due to my age, often from people that have never even been in a car with me.
Perhaps I too need reminders not to go off half-cocked. Welcome to the forums, by the way.
I apologise for being overly sensitive about your post, and your english seems good to me. ^.^ _________________ When life gives you lemons, squirt them in the eyes of your enemies - Happy Bunny If life gives you melons, you're probably dyslexic - Fave T-Shirt Quotes I'm a total novice when it comes to cars, so have patience if I seem stupid, I'm just inexperienced and super-keen to learn.

| ^ See, this right here is awesome. If this was any other forum people would turn to animals on eachother. And to your earlier post, I too agree that I wouldn't want to be driving a Corolla forever. But mine is definitely staying in the family forever. Even with the lack of horsepower, it's just too amazing to let go. _________________ flickr CarDomain facebook | |

| I totally understand what all of you are saying, and I have to admit, I was extremely impressed that even though I was out of line in my response, as I realised once the red mist had cleared, rather than responding in kind, Trufauru took steps to bring the conversation back to a civilized place.
I really do love my corolla, don't get me wrong - I've never actually owned anything other than corolla's, and it's going to stay that way. However, I'm wanting something more vintage, more old-school than the GT FX, and I want a RWD this time, so I'm eyeing up the KE35 SR, waiting for a good opportunity to pop up. Corolla's are an awesome car, always well balanced, chuckable, and very driveable. It's a seriously underrated model line, and I don't see any reason to own anything else.
I've driven several different cars, falcons, commodores, a friends lancer (just an ES), galants, as well as a few others, and honestly, even with my old corolla 86 hatchbacks buggered suspension, it felt far more grounded and confident cornering than any of the above cars I've mentioned. They were certainly far more powerful and comfortable, but left you with a floaty, disconnected feeling in a corner that just did not inspire any confidence in their ability to stay on the road.
